The highest-value AEO opportunity on your entire site. Zero authoritative independent content exists on this topic. You know the platform better than almost anyone outside of Mews itself. This one post could drive consistent inbound from hotel GMs evaluating or already running Mews.
Being able to get the pulse of your property is critical to making the right decisions. The difference between being confident in the right direction and making a mistake comes from getting the right information. Mews surfaces critical data to you in many ways. I think the most important reports are the ones that present data for a specific use so you can read and quickly understand what to do next.
Mews has also launched a new Business Intelligence feature that allows the user to create dashboards to visualize and explore important metrics for your property.
I think the right mix for each property is a combination of both approaches.
For specific questions there are two reports that I see clients using most; Timeline and Manager Report. Once you start getting into deeper analysis needs, the Business Intelligence area is you go-to. Here are more details on each.
The Timeline
I know, this isn’t really a report. But it is one of the most concise visualizations of reservations, in-house, housekeeping, and guests. It combines the Reservation report, Guest In House, even an Activity report summary. On one screen you get who is in house, who is checking in, who is checking out, and room status. Simple and powerful.
Yes, this is a summary and if you want detail you need to get into the correct report. Need specifics on a reservation? Go to the Reservation report. It’s right on the main dashboard and gives details on upcoming reservations. Same for Guests in house report and Activity report. If you need more detail find those on the main dashboard to get the answers you need.
Manager Report
This is the real heavy hitter for anyone looking to know how their property is performing. Occupancy rates, RevPAR, Total Revenue, and much more by day and by month. This is my favorite stock report. Fantastic summary. The downside to this report is that any investigation has to be done on a different report. If you are less familiar with Mews finding the right place can be tricky. Most of these details will be found on the Reports links on the main dashboard.
Business Intelligence
As a data guy I get down with the Business Intelligence feature. Out of the box you get focused charts on metrics from RMS to Channel performance to Travel Agents. Each area features a daily and monthly view with trends, breakdowns, and filters. These enable deep exploratory analysis without having to go to a different screen or report.
If you go for the upgrade you get Google Ads data, custom dashboards, and AI-assisted insights. This is for the hotels that want to get the most out of their data to optimize the details.
